I love to play tennis. There is just something extremely relaxing and rewarding about it. If I win, it is because of my efforts rather than a collective team effort, and I really like that aspect of it because I am really competitive. I am by no means a professional, but that doesn’t mean I don’t give it my all. I was playing a few months ago when I tried to go beyond my abilities and strained my knee. As soon as I did that, I knew I needed to see a Santa Barbara chiropractor.
I had never seen one before, which that is surprising in itself because most of the people I know who play tennis regularly see one. Most of them are older than me though, and I thought that was the main reason why they were seeing one. I discovered after getting treatment for my sprained knee that I was wrong though. I needed to see him twice a week at first, then it went down to once a week with my third week of seeing him. We talked while he gave me my treatment, and he explained why tennis players seek out chiropractic care.
He did agree that age plays a role in anyone seeing a doctor such as himself, because that is just the truth of our bodies. As we age, we need more help with the various parts. It is more than that though. When he told me that two of three people playing tennis need chiropractic care, I really took notice of that number. He explained that chiropractic care is not just to heal an injury but also to prevent one from happening in the first place My knee is completely healed now, but I still see him because I got smart about playing my sport of choice now, and that involves seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis.
