My sister and I were helping our grandmother move to an assisted living facility. We tried our best to do most of this on our own. As I was picking up a box of her wonderful cookbooks I knew immediately that I hurt my back. I worked through the pain the best I could so as not to worry my grandma. She is stressed out enough with leaving her long-time home. After we were finished, I told my sister what had happened to my back. She said I should go see a chiropractor in San Rafael.
I had never been to a chiropractor before so I was a little hesitant but then decided that was probably the best thing for me to do. I called a chiropractor that was close to my home and explained what happened. They had an opening that very afternoon available. Talk about quick. I never thought I would be able to get in that quick. I had two hours before my appointment was to take place. I just took it easy and relaxed until it was time to go. Once I got there, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and informed the chiropractor was. We had a short question and answer session and then a thorough examination of my back. He did some adjustments on my back and said he wanted to see me in two days for another adjustment if needed.
I went back in two days feeling much better but not quite up to par. He did another adjustment on my back and said to call him if I didn’t start feeling better. Thankfully, I felt like my old self by the next day and didn’t have to go back for another visit. I was always skeptical of this type of treatment but now am a firm believer in chiropractors.
